Part-Time Human Resource Generalist

ASN is seeking a part- time HR Generalist for 25 hours a week with strong project management skills and nonprofit experience to solely manage and act as support to the ASN staff on all personnel issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES

All candidates must possess extensive data entry computer expertise with an ability to build solid databases in Excel. This job emphasizes predictable efficiency and relies heavily on written communication. Applicant must be focused and able to meet the high degree of challenges.

  • Act as a liaison for both staff and management
  • Manage benefits;
  • Create policies, procedures and Best Practices
  • Take part in the full life cycle recruiting process from job postings to interviewing, hiring, and on-boarding of new employees
  • Handbook and file maintenance, including annual document auditing.
  • Manage issues surrounding unemployment, workers compensation, employment and housing verification
  • Manage semi-monthly payroll, payrolls for seasonal youth employment, and supporting payroll reports using Paylocity software.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES
  • Maintain confidentiality and responsiveness
  • Work with limited supervision in a multi-tasking environment
  • Be a creative and strategic thinker with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Must demonstrate fairness, excellent listening skills, and a strong knowledge of HR laws and solutions.
  • Be responsible to the regulations governing human resources actions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degrees in human resources or business related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of human resource work in a nonprofit environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated Microsoft skills, particularly Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with HR software programs, specifically Paylocity or other payroll software.
